Campus Safety shuttle drivers are responsible for operating a shuttle vehicle on and off campus in a safe and courteous manner, observing all speed limits and stopping at a number of locations. Will treat all members of the Trinity College community with respect. Responsible for reporting all incidents to the supervisor on duty; maintaining the appearance of the interior of the shuttle; providing safe, reliable and efficient transportation within a daily assigned schedule; performing pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required; assisting in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids; notifying dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems or bus mechanical/electrical trouble and submitting complete written reports
A current CDL driver’s license and good driving record are required and must be maintained. Must have 2-5 years experience in operating a shuttle vehicle; have good communication skills, ability to read, write and speak English and perform basic mathematical procedures; have the ability to work under stress and meet strict timelines and possess ability to push/pull tension of at least 50 pounds to bend and stoop/kneel to assist passengers. Background checks will be conducted. Applicants must be available for hours as scheduled, or needed, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Scheduled hours are: Sundays-Thursdays from 6:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.; Fridays and Saturdays 7:00 p.m.-4:00 a.m.
