The Area Coordinator is a full-time professional staff member who is responsible for the assertive supervision, training, and selection of student Senior Resident Assistants and Resident Assistants.  Each AC is also responsible for the following duties: the administrative management of a cluster of four to eight residence halls, (approximately 500 students); reinforcing residence hall policies and serving as a preliminary hearing officer adjudicating incidents of misconduct; and serving as an after-hours emergency response resource.  The Area Coordinator also works with the Campus Life Staff responsible for developing student activities outside the residence halls.  In addition, the Area Coordinator provides direction for residence hall programming and helps to create and promote opportunities for faculty and student interaction.
 
Qualifications:
 
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field, and at least one year of post-baccalaureate experience strongly desired.  Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and significant post-baccalaureate experience will also be considered.
 
Successful candidates must: have an appreciation of and the ability to work with a diverse student population; be accustomed to or prepared for a high degree of student contact; have excellent interpersonal skills; be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form; and be comfortable working and interacting with faculty and other administrators.  Candidates must also be committed to the intellectual and cultural life of a highly selective, private, liberal arts community.

Compensation:
 
Competitive salary, plus a furnished apartment, free utilities (except for long-distance phone charges), a partial meal plan when school is in session, as well as an excellent benefits package including 15 vacation days, tuition remission, and medical/dental coverage.
