The holidays are upon us, and so it is also the time for the ACES (Annual Community Events Staff) 17th Annual Sponsor-A-Snowman holiday gift drive for Interval House.
Interval House, serving 24 towns from Andover to Avon, is Connecticut’s largest non-profit domestic violence intervention and prevention organization. Offering a range of services, including as a 24-hour hotline, safety planning, crisis counseling, emergency shelter, support groups, advocacy, criminal and civil court advocacy, information and referrals, community education, and a program for the children of clients, Interval House is the only organization in central Connecticut solely dedicated to addressing domestic violence.

It has been the tradition of Hartford Interval House to provide a holiday party that includes past and present clients. Last year, Trinity provided holiday gifts for over 120 children in attendance for the festivities. This year, ACES has taken on the ambitious but doable goal of providing gifts for over 130 children who will be at this year’s party.
So How Can You Help?
The best way to help is to buy and/or provide something from the list that is attached to this announcement. If you do choose a child from the list, please let us know by contacting Joe Barber at email@example.com, so we can mark that child off the list. You can also stop by the ACES table, located outside of Mather Dining Hall, all this week and pick up a “snowman” that has a child’s name, age, and gift preference.
All gift donations are due into the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement by December 5th because volunteers at Interval House have a lot of work to do once they receive the donations and get ready for their holiday party on December 10th. Even one small gift can make a difference. So while you’re out shopping for your friends and family, please consider picking up a gift for a child and bringing it over to the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement.
Thanks in advance for your support.
