Craig Schneider, Charles A. Dana Professor of Biology
Since the time of Linnaeus, taxonomists have used morphological characteristics to distinguish traits that link and separate biological species. Craig Schneider’s study of the seaweed flora of Bermuda began long before the use of gene sequencing as a taxonomic tool. His lecture will explore how molecular-assisted alpha-taxonomy has changed from earlier taxonomic knowledge in this isolated Atlantic archipelago.

A light lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan on bringing a class or group to a Thursday Common Hour program, please e-mail common-hour@trincoll.edu in order for adequate food to be requested.

Common Hour
intends to offer the Trinity community an opportunity to absent themselves from daily tasks and concerns, gather, and engage in topics of interest and enjoy performances, lectures, discussions, and readings that enrich our cultural and intellectual lives. The designated weekly hours also seeks to showcase the best of what occurs within our campus community.
