Projected time: 6/2-16, 2013 (not confirmed yet but definitely in June, 2013)
Eligibility: Trinity Faculty or Administrators with full-time appointments on a continuing basis, who have a genuine interest in Japan, but are not Japan specialists, and who have had little or no previous exposure to Japan, are eligible to apply.
Goal for this opportunity: It is expected that the successful applicant will help promote the presence of Japanese Studies at Trinity in some way during the year following the trip. In the past, the trip experiences resulted in inclusion of Japan-related topics in a course, a photo exhibit, a public lecture and a website, all focusing on some aspect of Japanese society and culture. We would like to see other creative ways by our faculty and staff to contribute and enrich the Japanese Studies at College. In addition, all Technos Tour participants are highly encouraged to get involved in Technos related events on Trinity campus, most notably by hosting Technos visitors when they come to visit Trinity in March.
Application process: There is no official form of application. In your letter of application, please outline your interest in this opportunity and then describe in detail how you envision achieving the goal of this opportunity and benefiting the Trinity community in general.
Applications should be submitted to Rieko Wagoner, Department of Language and Culture Studies, rieko.wagoner@trincoll.edu by Monday, January 28. E-mail application is acceptable. We will begin the selection process immediately following the deadline. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Rieko Wagoner.
