The Assistant/Associate Director helps create, plan, execute and evaluate opportunities for alumni to engage in the educational mission of Trinity College. Working with team members in Alumni Relations, Advancement, Communications, Career Development, the academic deans and faculty, coaches, and alumni and students, the Assistant/Associate Director will be proactive in engaging all constituents in enhancing the College’s profile, incorporating, whenever possible, Trinity’s academic mission. The candidate must be a goal oriented person who considers her/himself an alumni relations professional and has knowledge of best practices in the field. The successful candidate will have a clear sense of direction, passion and creativity, and will be excited to build upon existing programs with a vision for the future; a commitment to excellence is required. At all times the Assistant/Associate Director will demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to private liberal arts education, reflecting the importance of positive alumni involvement.
This position requires strong skills in management, organization, volunteer and event management, budgeting, social and career networking. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and public speaking experience as well as initiative, energy, flexibility and the ability to work independently. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, desktop publishing, alumni databases and social networking and media is ideal as is experience working with vendors and contracts. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree; alumni, events planning or development experience, preferably in education is required. Formal title and salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience. Ability to work evenings and weekends is required.
