Brendan Murray ’06
Ph.D. student at Boston College in Cognitive/Social Neuroscience
Brendan will be talking about the differences and similarities in how college-age and healthy older (65+) adults remember emotional and non-emotional events. He will give a brief overview of where the literature stands on the interactions between emotion, age, and cognition, and then will talk about one of his ongoing lines of research: how older and younger adults can use motivated suppression (in a "think/no-think" task) to intentionally suppress learned information from conscious access.
