Marni Davis
Assistant Professor of History, Georgia State University
 
Marni Davis studies and teaches American history, Jewish history, and the history of ethnicity and immigration in the United States. She is especially interested in the experiences of immigrants who settled in the American South.
 
She is the author of Jews and Booze: Becoming American in the Age of Prohibition (New York University Press, 2012), which explores American Jews’ relation to alcohol production and their attitudes toward alcohol consumption during the years of the national prohibition movement’s rise and fall.
 
Marni Davis received her Ph.D from Emory University in 2006, and taught there for a year before joining the faculty at Georgia State. She has been the recipient of scholarly awards from the National Foundation for Jewish Culture, the American Jewish Archives, and the Feinstein Center for American Jewish History. Dr. Davis is an affiliate faculty member with the Jewish Studies Program at Georgia State University.
