Dorothy E. Mosby, the author of Place, Language, and Identity in Afro-Costa Rican Literature, is a leading voice in analyzing and making visible contemporary black writing from Costa Rica. Mosby’s poetry has appeared in Hispanic Culture Review and she has presented her research at numerous conferences and institutes. Her talk, as well as her work, creates fusion between the broadly defined Spanish and English–speaking Caribbean regions, spawning dialogue across this area.
