Matt Dwonszyk is an up-and-coming acoustic bass player from Greater Hartford who began studying jazz in high school at the Academy of Performing Arts in Hartford with teachers Jimmy Greene, Kris Allen, Paul Brown, and Doug Maher. He now performs with Ed Fast & Conga-Bop while attending the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School/University of Hartford where he studies with Nat Reeves and Steve Davis. Dwonszyk has started his own group, the New Unity Band, and plans to move to New York City upon completing his degree at Hartt.
Larry Gareau has played supporting performances for Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra Jr., Aretha Franklin, Bernadette Peters, Johnny Mathis, Franki Valli, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Ojays, Mannheim Steamroller, The Irish Tenors, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Don Rickles, and Regis Philbin. In Connecticut, he is often playing in the orchestra pit for touring Broadway shows at the Bushnell, Palace, Shubert, and Oakdale theaters, and for musicals at Goodspeed Opera House. A faculty member of Central Connecticut State University and the Hartt School, Community Division, Gareau is also the private trumpet instructor at Trinity College.
