Reporting to the Director, the Graduate Assistant will assist in working with the Hartford community to develop and maintain strong access to technology-based community development programs and effective student-faculty-community partnerships via maintaining the operations of the Trinfo Café.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing technology-based curriculum for after school programs, summer educational programs, staff training for area non-profit, and adult computer literacy classes in English and Spanish. S/he will manage the day-to-day operations at Trinfo Café, which includes hiring, training, scheduling and managing student employees, payroll, ordering office and computer supplies, managing invoices and expenses, and attending to the diverse needs of patrons. Additional responsibilities include coordinating the regular computer giveaways, supervising the daily “kids’ hours”, organizing public events held at Trinfo and other duties assigned by the Director.
Bachelor’s degree required. Must have demonstrated fluency in Spanish; commitment to and experience in community service; good interpersonal, written, organizational and oral communication skills. Also must have the ability to work both independently and as a team player and be attentive to detail.
Full-time, full-year position (35 hours/week); $15,200 annual stipend payable monthly; student health insurance; tuition remission for up to two graduate courses at Trinity and one course/semester through Hartford Consortium; student meal plan (middle tier); on-campus furnished apartment.
