in volunteering at Billings Forge Community Works?
The afterschool program at Billings Forge is a free weekday program that offers
youth in the neighborhood a safe place to come during after school hours. Most
of the 15 students who attend the program are 3rd to 6th
grade students from the Burns Latino Studies Academy and live in the Frog
Hollow neighborhood. The program offers healthy snacks, homework assistance and
daily activities, as well as weekly enrichment classes in art, music, dance,
and cooking, that are taught by partnering instructors. Volunteers are sought who can commit to at
least one day per week from 3:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. for the academic year.
Volunteers will help with classroom set-up, activity and behavior monitoring,
homework tutoring, and classroom clean-up.

- 2:45
p.m.: Volunteers arrive and prepare day’s activities
